What's the difference between rate and APR?
The interest rate is what the lender charges to borrow the money. The APR (Annual Percentage Rate) includes the interest rate plus fees — origination, points, mortgage insurance. APR is the true cost of the loan. When comparing lenders, compare APRs, not just rates.
